Latest
Discoveries
Recently
the Association has been extremely fortunate to have been given an original
photo album from the Enders Homestead at Trentham. The Album which belonged to
J.B & Martha Enders contains some very early photos of their children taken
in the 1860’s. There are also a number of photos of relatives of JB’s in the
USA. We are very grateful to Merrilyn Zahara, Wendy Laing & Lauris Murnane
for their generous donation. In addition to the album, they also uncovered some
very early photos of the Enders home and sawmill approx. late 1870’s.
Another amazing discovery amongst photos in another of the albums from the Enders home were original photos of J.B Enders parents Philip & Anna Enders. These would also have been taken in the early 1870’s in Gooderich Michigan in the USA . See below:

Enders Reunion
in America
The 79th Annual Enders Family
Reunion was held on August 11th in
Enders Pennsylvania, last year with a good turnout present. Although there had
been a spell of hot weather ( being their
last month of Summer) the day
turned out to be quite mild. At the
reunion the Civil War Book “Captain Enders Legion”
was launched, listing all those members of the Enders Family in the USA
that participated in the American
Civil War. J.B Enders brother Harry H Enders is listed in the book. If anyone is
interested in purchasing a copy please contact Gary Enders. The reunion was
attended from Australia by Norman & Grace Kentish of Kyabram and their
daughter Lisa, who also attended
the Reunion in 1998.
Patricia Frith of Canberra is about to put the finishing touches to her
book of Family Histories on the “ Lineage of Allan Fergusson & Mary
Foster”. The book covers both the ancestry of the Fergusson & Foster
families, but includes Enders history through Particia’s Grandmother Mary
Louisa Enders who was the daughter of J.B Enders. If anyone is interested in
obtaining a copy please contact
Patricia on (02) 6251 2595 or E-mail:- findafrith@netspeed.com.au
Congratulations Patricia.
